Naomi Cowan Starts the Spring/Summer of Love with New Visual for “Holiday”

Right in time for the Spring/Summer of love, Jamaican pop/reggae singer Naomi Cowan is back with a new video for the song “Holiday” after the release of her StarGirl mixtape with Major Lazer last year. Produced by Crate Classics and Tessellated, the upbeat, melodic and infectious track is the auditory version of a love so dynamic it feels like a holiday.

Watch video here:

Filmed in Brooklyn, NY, directed by Yoram Savion (Apple, Red Bull, Sundance Film Festival, Adidas) and styled by Anya Swapp & Courtney Blackwell, the video shows a woman in the city, happily in love with life while adorned in fashion forward colorful looks that embody her Caribbean heritage, with a splash of 90s dancehall flavor and feminine barbie vibes. “Naomi and I agreed we wanted an uplifting and natural feel to the video,” says Savion, “so we conceptualized the whole story to take place within a couple blocks of the same BedStuy neighborhood. We of course wanted to show Naomi?s style, and energy and roller skate skills!”

“Personally the song is a reflection of the kind of love & romance I want to see manifested in my life,” says Naomi Cowan. I feel like I see so many people get together because it ?makes sense? on paper – but in spirit there?s no authenticity, no vibrancy or joy.  Unconditional love does take a lot of work, time & patience – I feel like there should always be a magical, ethereal, pure energy  to it that you and your partner can return to when times get tough. So when I heard the beat, I kinda imagined disappearing into a different dimension with someone. You know when you spend time with someone and the time passes so quickly because y?all are so into each other? Yea, it?s a Holiday,” she concludes.

“Holiday” follows previously released singles, “Lucky Me” and “Energy” (Izzy Beats- Koffee “Toast”), Santa Claus Do You Ever Come to the Ghetto? Along with a series of visualizers that tell the story of the StarGirl Mixtape. Naomi has more music in store this year and recently recorded a duet with reggae legend Shaggy! She recently performed for TD Bank’s TD Music at Union Station and at the Cali Vibes Music Festival.
