Chris Gayle hopes to get a big collaboration with Shaggy and Sean Paul to help him take his music to the next level.

Talismanic T-20 player Chris Gayle hopes to approach his new music career in the same way that he does on the field: with big hits. The former West Indies captain has been launching his music career for the past two years with Triple Century Records. He’s already aiming to do more in the music business.

He hopes to be able to work alongside the industry’s veterans, even though he has already made some progress in dancehall music by teaming up and performing with other Jamaican artists like Tanto Blacks, Andrew Blaxx and Pata Skeng. In an interview, he revealed his plans to the Jamaica Star.

“I am pushing for more collaborations with local artistes, such as Shaggy and Sean Paul. He confidently stated that it was possible and would happen.

He seems passionate about dancehall and making it big, which is not an easy feat.

He revealed that the two first songs he recorded were made in his own home, in his movie theatre room. He began recording at a studio after that. But he realized that investing in himself was the best way to go. So he built his studio.

Gayle stated that Bolt and he have the celebrity status to help dancehall take it further on the international stage. He was jovial and asked for respect from his fans.

He hopes to sign more artists with his label in the future. Universe Boss said that he has already begun to look at potential artists who he hopes will sign with his label.

He spoke with Television Jamaica’s Anthony Miller in a second interview. He called for fans and critics to recognize the hard work he and Usain Bolt , the Jamaican Olympian, put into the music industry. Bolt, like Gayle, recently entered dancehall. Bolt announced his presence with three dancehall riddims in 2019, including Olympe Rose Riddim and Immortal Riddim. He also co-produced the Clockwork Riddim.

“And big up Usain Bolt, the legend, and NJ as well. He said that they were doing their music thing and the content sounds good. Usain producing is also fantastic.”

He hopes to also share his talent on stage with Jamaica at Reggae Sumfest where he will make a debut.

“Like what I said, all I have to do is some rehearsals before I can be ready for the stage. Trust me. Joe Bogdanovich will be my Sumfest meeting point, as Joe is familiar with what I bring to the table.” he said.

Gayle is a pioneer in Indian dancehall and it’s clear that he will bring new territory to the genre. He seems to be able to tackle almost everything and is determined to take over in the very short time he has been an artist.

He revealed later in the interview that he has already started something with Shaggy, and Sean Paul. He stated that he had recorded his part and was waiting to have Sean Paul do the rest.
