After being told publicly to remove the song by Dancehall artiste Spice on several occasions, Producer Michael’ Askell Fairman insists that he won’t be doing so.

Spice posted a statement on her Instagram account three days ago in which she requested that the song “Solid Ground “, she has been working on for the past two years with Pastor Stephen Blake, not be released. The pastor and his producer released the single, despite her request.

Spice said, “Take out my voice out of a yuh tune and gwan in Jesus name.” Spice also stated, “Stephen you claim to be an angel.” I privately asked you to not release the unfinished demo we had started to work on in 2020.

Both Spice and Fairman have been criticized for their proclamations. However, Fairman insists that he will not remove the song collaboration with Spice.

It’s a fantastic production. It is also a positive song. He stated that if it were a raunchy tune, I would understand it; however, a raunchy track would not see Pastor Blake on the song.” He said in a recent interview.

He pointed out that everyone involved in the production had been made aware of the song’s imminent release before it was released.

It wasn’t a demo. He said that this was a complete project. “I don’t plan to retract the collab. If it has the collective efforts of all the artistes, it can achieve great things.

It was well-known that Pastor Blake wanted to collaborate with Spice for a long time and made this public after he met with Spice in 2019.

He also said that the song has a strong meaning and was released at the right moment in spite of the ongoing ‘war of words’ between some female artists in the industry.

“I had made it clear that I wanted to record a song with her, that spoke out against temptation, and that is Solid Ground.”

Following the chaos that followed the release of the song, Pastor Blake retorted, saying that he wasn’t made aware Spice’s disapproval until Friday’s release.

“Sometimes, we don’t know why these things happen. But I believe that God is for me and no one can stop me. He stated that God saw and knew all of this was coming.
