After dropping an inspiring new song, Teejay is receiving a round of applause.
Teejay kicked off the new year with a bang. His latest track, “I’ll Touch the Sky”, was released on Wednesday, January 12. Fans already hail it as a beacon for hope for those who have faced challenges in the last two years.
Damage Musiq’s production, “I’ll Touch the Sky”, is a video of four minutes that talks about suicide. According to the video, a million people worldwide die each year from suicide. More than 50 deaths per year in Jamaica are due to suicide. The majority of these deaths are caused by male suicide attempts.
The images depict a man who is overwhelmed by life’s trials and tribulations, including an ungrateful wife, an eviction notice and the death of his child. The man, who doesn’t know where to turn, collapses under the pressure. Teejay watches him as an angel complete with wings.
The man is distraught, drunk and depressed and he puts a gun to the head. He is about to pull trigger when Teejay’s song plays on the radio. That is all we will say about it for now. You can see the video here for yourself below.
