Jah Cure Pleads Self Defense In Stabbing Incident

Jah Cure is a dancehall veteran and will be giving his side in court in Amsterdam on January 12. He believes all will be revealed when he can present his side of the story.

Jan-Hein Kuijpers from Jah Cure’s defense team spoke to the Jamaica Observer and said that Cure is certain he will not be convicted. According to Jan-Hein Kuijpers, Cure believes that he was placed in a position where he had to defend himself.

Kuijpers also stated that witnesses must be interrogated. Tomorrow’s public hearing will give Jah Cure the opportunity to speak. The court has charged him with attempted murder and attempted manslaughter.

Siccature Alcock is a popular reggae singer who has been held in an undisclosed jail outside Amsterdam since October 2021. The incident occurred in October 2nd, when the 43-year old allegedly stabbed Nicardo Blake, a Dutch show promoter.

According to another source Franklin Wattimena (press officer at The Netherlands Public Prosecution Service) said that there is a possibility that he might not be granted bail tomorrow.

She explained that if the prosecution considers that it is necessary for him to remain under custody, she will request that her court extend the remand orders with a maximum of 90 days. The court will decide if the remand order will continue or be extended.

Jah Cure’s lawyer said that Jah Cure is happy and trying to keep his spirits up. He said that he was a strong man.
